Sheriff Seizes Racehorses In Gambling Sting

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Department announced last Tuesday that several dozen search and arrest warrants were served simultaneously in Phoenix, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. The warrants were issued against four separate gambling rings that were loosely affiliated with each other. As the case continues to develop, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has now seized 19 racehorses, and moves to confiscate millions of dollars worth of other personal property.

Costa Rica Tied To Illegal Gambling Raids

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office has served 40 search warrants simultaneously in connection with illegal gambling rings. The warrants were served in Phoenix, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and targeted four separate, but loosely connected, gambling rings that ran illegal gambling and loan sharking operations. The gambling rings centered their activities around internet sportsbooks based in Costa Rica.
