Fortunes restaurant opens at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway

Saratoga Gaming and Raceway, the Saratoga Springs casino and harness horse track, has completed a $1 million renovation of the Fortunes restaurant.

"We have always promised to offer our guests the best entertainment experience possible, and with the addition of Fortunes we now have the best full evening experience possible," said Jamie Hartman, Saratoga Gaming general manager, in a press release.

The restaurant seats 360 people, serving an American menu with a buffet. It is open to the public for dinner Wednesday through Friday, lunch and dinner on Saturday and will offer Sunday brunch beginning May 8.

Fortunes executive chef Thomas Gisler was most recently executive chef at the Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown. His goal was to create a menu of traditional favorites with a few innovations to keep things interesting. For example, the Oysters Rockefeller appetizer features oysters topped with Spinach in a Pernod cream with Hollandaise sauce.
