Communities Benefit From Philippine Lottery Despite sharp criticisms and religious opposition, the state-sanctioned lottery in the Philippines is delivering tangible benefits to small, impoverished communities. Not only are lottery proceeds funding education and improving public works projects, but in some instances the lottery has even wiped out illicit underground gambling. The lottery still has it’s faults, however, and continues to draw criticism from several directions. |

Fine Could Equal Online and Offline Gambling Combined
Since 2004, the United States has been entangled in an international trade dispute revolving around it’s policies towards online gambling. Rather than adhering to rulings by the World Trade Organization (WTO) on the matter, the US chose to retroactively change it’s trade agreements. As a result, the U.S. could be facing a fine of $100 Billion for it’s act of banning online gambling; and amount that equals the country’s online and offline gambling revenues combined. |

It's hard to beat a free gift from a casino, particularly when that gift is a new car. That's exactly what you can get by going to the Hollywood Casino in Bay St Louis, Mississippi. The casino is giving away free Hummer SUVs in what is surely the most extravagant promotion in history. Even those who criticize the gas-guzzling beast have a hard time arguing with the thought of getting a Hummer for free. To many people, the Hummer has become a symbol of American ingenuity, while others view it as an example of gross excess. Both sides point out that the Hummer is larger than life and dominates the roadway everywhere that it goes. These are the exact qualities that cause some to love the Hummer, and others to hate it. |

Most anyone who has been involved with sports betting or internet poker in the last few years has heard of BoDog. Americans have always had a love/hate relationship when it comes to betting on sports. On the one hand, we will object to the notion because of moral issues, while at the same time continuing to gamble on the outcome of the game. The reasons for why people bet on sports is as varied as the types of bets that they place, but one thing all sports bettors agree on is that it makes the game much more interesting to have a monetary incentive on the line. |
